Falling tree damages mobile homes
Four adults who live in two mobile homes are receiving help from the American Red Cross after a large tree fell into both homes at once Tuesday afternoon.
Southside Fire/EMS and the Red Cross were called to 5116 Ogeechee Road, lots 2 and 2 ½, about 12:45 p.m. Both addresses suffered damages and utilities had to be shut off, making it unsafe for residents to return.
Occupants in both residences were home when the tree fell, but no injuries were reported. A family of three adults in one of the mobile homes will move to another one within the same development, according to the landlord.
The fourth adult will stay with family until he can find a place of his own.
The Red Cross provided money to all four victims for food for a week.
