Interstate 516 reopened to traffic about 6 p.m. after being stalled about three hours due to a wreck involving a motorcylce.
Savannah-Chatham police said the interstate was moving freely, but it could take some time for traffic to clear up around town.
The Savannah-Chatham police Major Accident Investigation Team is looking into the wreck that occured in the southbound side of I-516 about 3 p.m., said Eunicia Baker, police spokeswoman.
Police described the wreck as "serious," but did not immediatley incidate the extent of injuries in the crash.
