Check here for Thursday openings and closings

Armstrong Atlantic State University will resume classes and re-open business offices on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the main campus in Savannah and at the Liberty Center in Hinesville. 


Due to the potentially dangerous conditions such as black ice, Effingham County schools will be operating on a  two-hour delay Thursday morning. 


Savannah Christian Preparatory School will be closed on Thursday.


Georgia Southern University will return to normal operations on Thursday.

 

The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center outpatient clinics and VA’s clinics in Hinesville, Goose Creek, Beaufort, Savannah and Myrtle Beach, and the Trident Annex are closed for patient appointments on Thursday and will re-open on Friday. All non-essential staff should report to work at noon on Thursday, Jan 30.  Essential personnel should report as scheduled.

 

Patients should come to their appointments that are scheduled during open clinic times listed above.  If your appointment has been cancelled due to weather, you will be called to reschedule.  If you cannot wait to reschedule call the TAP line at 1-888-878-6884.  VA’s inpatient services and Emergency Room services will remain open.

 

Chatham Academy at Royce Learning Center, and Royce Learning Center, both will be closed Thursday.

 

Due to potentially hazardous driving conditions through the morning hours, all Chatham County offices are closed Thursday except for personnel directly related to ice and snow response.  This includes all courthouse facilities.  Jurors are to call the jury hotline Thursday night for further information.  


St. Andrew's School closed for students and staff on Thursday.  No after-school activities.  


There will be no school Thursday for Savannah-Chatham public school system students.  All staff will report at 10 a.m., with the exception of maintenance and custodial personnel who will report at their regular duty times.

The school district will continue to monitor the weather situation very closely.  Updates will be provided should changes or additional operational disruptions occur.  Please make sure to check the system's website frequently for updates at www.sccpss.com.
