A Bluffton man last week won $1 million in th Georgia Lottery after purchasing a ticket in Savannah, lottery officials said.
James Mollica, 52, purchased the top prize-winning instant game $10 Million Cash Spectacular at the Parkway Shell, 4 Park of Commerce Way, said Kimberly M. Starks, lottery spokeswoman.
He claimed his prize Jan. 27 at the the Georgia Lottery District Office in Savannah.
After scratching off the ticket in the store, the father of two was amazed.
“I had to look at it a few times,” he said. “I feel wonderful.”
With his wife, Denise, Mollica intends to save his windfall.
The new Georgia Lottery instant game $10 Million Cash Spectacular is loaded with cash prizes, including 40 top prizes from $1 million to $10 million.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
