GIRLS ROUNDUP: Brooks leads Johnson to 43-38 win

Alex Brooks made two steals and was 4 for 4 at the foul line in the last 50 seconds to lift Johnson to a 43-38 victory over host New Hampstead on Tuesday night.

Ijeoma Odimgbe collected a game-high 18 points plus 10 rebounds and five blocks for Johnson, which trailed 19-12 at halftime and 30-22 after three quarters. A 21-8 fourth quarter, however, led to the victory. Brooks added seven steals, four rebounds and two assists.

Jakera Richardson led New Hampstead with 13 points and nine steals.

Jenkins’ lone senior, Faith Sanders, scored a career-high 29 points on Seniors Night as the Warriors breezed past Groves.

Sanders added 18 rebounds, six steals and five assists. Teiyana Gordon added 15 points and five steals. Albrier Green-Heyward added nine points and eight rebounds.

Dezirea Washington had 10 points for Groves.

St. Andrew’s overcame a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Beaufort (S.C.) Academy.

Morgan Bennet had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for SAS, while Grace Turner scored 12 points and Rebecca Suh 10.

Miranda Weslake tallied a game-high 24 points for Beaufort Academy.

St. Andrew’s raised its record to 8-10, 4-3 in region play.
