BOYS ROUNDUP: Hughes leads Calvary past Country Day

Khaliq Hughes poured in 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds, and teammate Derek Kirkland had 10 points and seven rebounds to lead Calvary Day past Savannah Country Day 59-44 on Tuesday night.

Neb Ozabia and Demetris Robertson had 14 and 12 points, respectively, for the Hornets.

BRUNSWICK — Ryan Montgomery scored 27 points, and Providence Christian played with just five players all night while defeating Heritage of Brunswick.

The win propels Providence to the region championship game Thursday against the winner of Trinity Christian and Southside Christian.

Providence also clinched a spot in the Georgia Independent Christian Athletic Association state tournament.

D’Juan Gaston had a game-high 25 points for New Hampstead.
