The Georgia Day Parade, scheduled for Wednesday in downtown Savannah has been postponed due to expected inclement weather, the Georgia Historical Society announced today.
The parade has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 19, at 10:30 a.m.
“The Georgia Day Parade is a long standing tradition in Savannah, but with the forecast calling for 100 percent chance of rain, the decision to postpone had to be made in time to alert the thirty-three schools that are participating this year,” said W. Todd Groce, president and CEO of the Georgia Historical Society. “Our first priority is always the welfare and safety of Georgia’s school children.”
The parade will follow the usual route along Bull Street from Forsyth Park to City Hall.
