A Pooler man was indicted last week by a federal grand jury in Savannah on robbery charges.
Bobby Joe White Jr., 42, is accused of robbing the Sea Island Bank and the Biomat USA Savannah Blood Plasma Donation Center, said James Durham, first assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Georgia.
According to the indictment, White allegedly robbed the Sea Island Bank on Nov. 1 by “force, violence and intimidation.” Then, on Nov. 22, he allegedly robbed the plasma donation center of about $8,000 in cash.
White faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release for each robbery charge, Durham said.
The originated from an investigation by the FBI’s Safe Streets Violent Crime Task Force of Southeast Georgia, which was assisted by officers from the Pooler and Savannah-Chatham police departments.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Charlie Bourne is prosecuting the case.
