From 10 p.m. today through 7 a.m. Thursday, the freeze line will approach western Chatham County, and it’s likely the Port Wentworth area will be affected, said Kelly Harley, CEMA spokeswoman. Bridges and overpasses in extreme northwestern parts of the county could freeze, she said.
Residents are encouraged to pay attention to changing weather conditions and put winter weather safety measures in place.
Temperatures are expected to reach the low 40s on Thursday.
