Savannah-Chatham public schools and administrative offices will operate on a two-hour delay Thursday due to freezing rain conditions that will impact many roadways.
The delay excludes all custodial, maintenance, and campus police personnel, who will report as directed by their supervisors.
Additionally, all school nutrition staff will report to their assigned sites by 9 a.m. Morning services offered through the YMCA of Coastal Georgia’s Pryme Tyme Program at Savannah-Chatham public schools sites will be canceled. Should additional changes to the operational schedule be required, updates will be provided through local media outlets, sccpss.com, and through the district’s telephone notification system.
Also, the Savannah State University shuttle bus will not run Thursday. All dual-enrolled students will receive an excuse form via email that they may provide to their professors, in the event they are unable to attend class tomorrow.

St. Andrew’s School is calling a delayed start to school on Thursday due to risk of freezing roads and bridges. Students should report to school by 10 a.m. and no earlier than 9:45 a.m. There will be no early childcare.

Benedictine Military School will operate on a two-hour delay Thursday. Students and personnel are to report for a 9:40 a.m. warning bell and homeroom at 9:44 a.m. Lunch will be served.

Savannah Christian Prep will delay the opening of school Thursday. The school day will begin at 10:15 am for the daycare and preschool as well as grades PreK-12th. All transportation services will be operating 1 hour 45 minutes later than their normal pick-up times. The campus-to-campus shuttle buses will depart at 9:40 am.

Bryan County School System officials have been monitoring weather conditions throughout the day.
The most current projections do not include ice accumulation in Bryan County. School system officials plan on holding classes Thursday and have a student/staff holiday scheduled for Friday. As an precautionary step, Bryan County schools will have staff members driving and assessing the road conditions at 4 a.m. If there is a need to close schools due to ice accumulation on the roads, a notice will be placed on the system and school website as well as via the school notification systems no later than 5 a.m.

Laurel Bay Schools in South Carolina will be delayed by two hours with classes starting at 10 a.m. Staff and students are advised to be alert for information pertaining to Thursday’s schedule.
