Fires on Saturday displaced two Chatham County families, according to the Red Cross.
A fire destroyed an apartment 2140-B Iowa St. in Savannah, displacing three adults and a child, said Robin Wingate, executive director of the American Red Cross Southeast Georgia Chapter. They were provided with funds for temporary shelter, food and clothing.
In Garden City, Wingate said, a fire severely damaged a mobile home at 59 Leisure Drive, displacing an adult and three children. That family has a place to stay, but volunteers provided them with funds for food.
