Savannah Fashion Week 2014 has announced that, for the first time, Savannah designers will present their collections at SFW's runway show to be held 7 p.m. May 1 at Forsyth Park. Original outfits from nine Savannah designers will be showcased along with the latest fashion from SFW's retail partners.

"Savannah has nurtured and produced some extraordinary fashion designers," says Heather Burge, president of Savannah Fashion Week 2014 and owner of BleuBelle. "We're so excited to be able to show their work on the runway. Combined with the latest fashions presented by our amazing retail partners, this year's Savannah Fashion Week promises to be the biggest one yet."

The 2014 participating retailers include BleuBelle, Custard Boutique, J. Paige, James Gunn, Red Clover Boutique, Sara Jane Children's Boutique, Satchel, Trunk 13 and Zia Boutique.

This year's participating designers include

• Brooke Atwood presenting clothes from the second season of her Brooke Atwood collection -- "modern day western wear meets downtown chic rock 'n' roll"

• Catherine Fain showcasing her 2014 Spring Ramey Rhodes line inspired by a 'jet-set' attitude with pieces that are easily packable and wearable

• Cate Lyon, owner of Cate Lyon Studio

• Faith Thornburg, winner of ELLE Magazine's Fashion Next Award, showing her bridal line inspired by the "romance of Savannah"

• Emily Bargeron showing pieces from her Mamie Ruth collection

• Kathryn Hayes presenting items from her Fall 2014 and Resort 2014 Mix Julep line, the later of which is inspired by the "steel magnolia"

• Nicole Edge, owner of Kleon's Sewing Studio in Savannah, whose line is 60's mod inspired,

• Troy Allen, Savannah Arts Academy student and winner of the 2014 Junk2Funk fashion show who'll be showing his collection of sportswear inspired by 'Cowboys vs. Indians'

• Featured designer April Johnston, "Project Runway" and "Project Runway All-Stars" contestant, presenting her Mangled Courtesan line and who promises "a lot of surprise in this collection."

Females ages 16 - 25, 5'7 or taller, sizes 0 - 6 are welcome to attend either one of the two audition dates at Halo Models & Talent, 1323 Bull St., any time between 4 and 7 p.m. March 21 and 28.

Stephanie Duke, Director of Halo Models, says she's looking for girls who are "fresh-faced and natural.  Most of all they need to have a positive attitude." Models selected will be walking the runway wearing outfits from Savannah's best designers and fashion retailers during Savannah Fashion Week's finale runway show on May 1.

Models attending the casting call are requested to bring one nonreturnable photo and dress to impress. They will all be asked to wear high heels.  Due to limited space, parents and friends are not allowed to attend the audition. If models are under 18, they may bring one parent.

Models must be available from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 1 and be available for fittings leading up to the show date. A list of selected models will be posted April 5 on halotalentsavannah.com.

Savannah Fashion Week runs April 28 - May 3. Celebrating its fifth year, it showcases the best of Savannah design, including fashion, accessories and jewelry.
