A contractor for the Georgia Department of Transportation has scheduled a lane closure on US 80 between Sand Hill Road and US 280 near the Bryan/Effingham County line starting today at 9 a.m. and lasting until 5 p.m., weather permitting.
The lane closure will be used for necessary tree clearing for the new Ogeechee River and overflow replacement bridges.
Crews will lead motorists through the work zone with a pilot vehicle. Motorists should play close attention to both the flagmen and pilot vehicle.
Expect delays, and seek an alternate route if possible.
