An ongoing investigation into a Tuesday afternoon shooting on Savannah’s eastside has led to three arrests on other charges.
Kareem Abdul Felder, 18, of East 41st Street, was charged with obstruction and false statements and writings after lying to officers about his identity and the location of the shooting, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
Felder arrived at Memorial University Medical Center for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound shortly after the shooting, Miller said.
Police had been called to the 2000 block of Ash Street at 3:47 p.m. to investigate the shooting.
Police served four search warrants in the investigation Tuesday that led to two other arrests, Miller said.
Johnell Taylor, 36, of the 2000 block of Ash Street, was arrested on an outstanding contempt of court warrant. And Bernard Jonathon Wilson, 26, of the 3100 block of Harris Street, was charged with possession of marijuana.
The investigation into the shooting continues. Police ask anyone with information on the case to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
