Parker’s, a nationally-recognized convenience store leader, presented a $5,000 Fueling the Community check to Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools at Savannah Arts Academy. The donation is part of the company’s $25,000 unrestricted charitable contribution to area schools in Georgia and South Carolina and marks the third annual donation to Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools.
Students from Savannah Arts Academy's communications classes were in attendance, and had the opportunity to talk with Parker about how he has built his company and lessons learned along the way.
Parker’s donates one cent of every gallon of gas purchased at all of its convenience stores on the first Wednesday of the month to area schools through the Fueling the Community program. The company’s charitable initiative officially launched in the fall of 2011 and has donated money to public and private schools in every community where Parker’s does business.
