Buying a Georgia Lottery instant ticket was a grand slam for an Effingham County man, who won big while buying a cup of coffee. Mathew McGee, 45, won a $1 million top prize playing the instant game $10 Million Cash Spectacular.
McGee bought his ticket while he was stopping for a cup of coffee at Sommers, 5815 Waters Ave..
“It wouldn’t have happened, but I had a customer to reschedule an appointment,” said McGee, who’s an exterminator. “I looked at the ticket for 20 minutes, then I rescheduled the rest of my day.”
The lucky winner, who celebrates a birthday this week, has four children.
“It will definitely help out. I plan to squirrel some back,” McGee shared.
