
Savannah native Augustus Wright was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 3 in Wiesbaden, Germany on July 1.
Wright, who has been serving his country for 15 years, currently serves as the direct support officer-in-charge for U.S. Army Europe’s 60th Geospatial Planning Cell.
Wright enlisted in the Army in September 1998.
Wright has completed three combat deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn, two as an NCO and one as a warrant officer, totaling 38 months.
Wright’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with one oak leaf cluster; the Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters; the Good Conduct Medal; the National Defense Service Medal; the NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 2; the Overseas Ribbon and the Air Assault Badge.
Wright is married to the former Wytisha Nicole Knight of Savannah. Wytisha is a child development care provider. They have one daughter, Amaya, and a son, Brinden.
