Police are asking the public to call in with tips about the 2010 slaying of a 70-year-old man in Chatham County.

While answering a call about a suspicious vehicle at Kings Ferry on May 10, 2010, police discovered that Bobby Everett, 70, was missing. After a search of the surrounding area, Everett’s body was found in the woods, said Catherine Neal, CrimeStoppers spokeswoman.

Police are seeking information about a couple that is believed to have been at Kings Ferry around the time of Everett’s death, Neal said.

Police are looking for a man and woman who were driving a light-colored early to mid 2000s Ford F150, towing a single axel or boat trailer.

The couple was spotted using the victim’s credit cards in Walterboro and Florence, S.C., and Dunn, N.C., shortly after the incident, Neal said.

A potential cash reward of as much as $2,500 is available for new information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for Everett’s death.

Police ask anyone with information on the couple to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
