Greenbiar Children’s Center continued their 65th Anniversary celebration with a day at the historic Grayson Stadium as they cheered on the Savannah Sand Gnats victory over the Asheville Tourists. On Aug. 13 Greenbriar celebrated their “Family and Friends Day at the Park” while raising awareness of their services and encouraging others to support Greenbriar and its mission.
As part of the festivities, Gamma Sigma Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated presented boxes of “Tide” laundry detergent for the residents of Greenbriar, as well as a financial contribution. Dr. Clemontine F. Washington, Greenbriar’s Board of Directors’ President, threw out the first pitch while staff, friends, and fellow board members cheered her on.
