Chatham Area Transit has announced its staff will join the nation on Thursday in observing the thirteenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 and commemorating the lives that were sacrificed.

At 8:46 a.m., all transit operators will pull their vehicles out of the flow of traffic and park. The operators will then stand outside their buses for one minute in a moment of silence.

A CAT news release said the agency honors heroes and victims of the attacks and those who rose to service in response to the attacks through good deeds and volunteer services.

“We also remember the families of those victims who continue to struggle and cope with this tragedy,” the release read.
