Savannah-Chatham police are searching for a suspect responsible for at least two instances where women were grabbed and pulled into the same west Savannah alley.
Today, SCMPD responded to a reported kidnapping attempt. Just after 7:30 a.m., a female walking south on Florence Street towards West 44th Street, was approached from behind by a male subject wearing a face cover. The suspect placed the female in a chokehold and pulled her into an alley. After yelling and fighting, the female was released and immediately fled the scene, said Eunicia Baker, police spokeswoman.
Similarly, on the morning of Sept. 9, metro responded to the same location, where another female reported that a male wearing a similar face cover grabbed her from there rear and pulled her into the same alley. She was released once she began to scream.
In both cases the suspect is described as a tall, slender black male, Baker said.
