The commitment deadline to the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf tournament on Hutchinson Island passed at 5 p.m. Friday, and several highly regarded golfers are slated to play.
The tournament has three different competitions throughout the week, ending with the Legends Division playing 54-holes Friday-Sunday, April 26-28.
The tournament has commitments from 16 World Golf Hall of Fame members.
Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Gene Littler, Doug Ford and Billy Casper will compete Monday and Tuesday in the Demaret Division for golfers 70 and over.
Ben Crenshaw, Curtis Strange, Hubert Green and Tony Jacklin will play in the 36-hole Raphael Division on Friday and Saturday.
And six more hall of famers — Tom Kite, Bernhard Langer, Sandy Lyle, Larry Nelson, Tom Watson and Nick Price — are in the main Legends Division draw.
Fred Couples will be inducted in the World Golf Hall of Fame next month.
Six others will make their Legends debuts: the teams of Steve Elkington and Rocco Mediate, Roger Chapman and Joe Daley, and Willie Wood and Kirk Triplett.
