Savannah-Chatham police Criminal Investigation detectives and forensics officers have identified a 47-year-old man who is in serious condition today, apparently after falling through the roof of a warehouse.
Downtown Precinct patrol officers responded to a call at ABC Supply Co. on the 1300 block of Rogers Street at 7 a.m. after employees found the man on the concrete floor. He had fallen from about 30 feet.
He was transported to Memorial University Medical Center where forensics officers identified him from his fingerprint.
Officers earlier had been called to the location about 1 a.m. when an employee reported a window had been broken and a man was caught on video entering a truck. Officers found no one and the building doors were secured.
The case continues to be investigated.
Man hit by pickup in midtown
A man was transported to the hospital Friday night after he was struck by a pickup truck.
Savannah-Chatham police closed Bull Street between Jasper and Pearl streets for several hours to investigate the incident.
Police spokesman Julian Miller said the man’s injuries were life threatening.
No other details were immediately available late Friday.
