The intersection of West 37th and Montgomery streets was closed early Saturday evening after wreck involving a semitrailer.
A trailer on a rig collapsed after hitting a tree limb about 5 p.m., said Julan Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
The trailer dislodged from the tractor and collapsed. Crews had to remove about 30 bags of kaolin weighing 2,300 pounds each before removing the trailer, Miller said. There were no injuries.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area until the wreck is cleared.
