Hoda Kotb, a co-host on NBC’s “Today Show,” is the latest to join the lineup of celebrity authors who will appear at the 2013 Savannah Book Festival.

Kotb will talk about her new book, “Ten Years Later: Six People Who Faced Adversity and Transformed Their Lives,” which is being published this week. The book explores the question of what people would do if, facing a game-changing event or choice, they could see 10 years into the future.

In her book, Kotb writes about six people who faced abuse, illness, addiction, grief and job loss.

“These people didn’t just fight their way through adversity, they forged better lives because of the battle,” Kotb said.

The author of the 2010 New York Times bestselling memoir, “Hoda: How I Survived War Zones, Bad Hair, Cancer and Kathie Lee,” Kotb has co-anchored the fourth hour of “The Today Show” with Kathie Lee Gifford since 2007.

Kotb will appear Feb. 16, one of more than 40 presenters during the Feb. 14-17 festival that also includes Gregg Allman, David Baldacci, Dave Barry, Bobby Deen, Jeff Kinney, James Patterson and former vice president Al Gore.

“Hoda has faced hardships in her own life,” said Robin Gold, executive director of the Savannah Book Festival. “To hear her speak about others who have faced and overcome life challenges will be an inspiration to all of us.”
